After all of the good work done, letters to ministers, by ECOfishers member David Cranwell and untolled promises by Fisheries minister Ian MacDonald  that it would not happen it is rumoured the NPA along with Tweed Shire Council is hell bent on closing the Wooyong Nature Reserve to 4x4 Fishers.
ECOfishers will not accept this descission without a fight so members be prepared.

Despite all the promises made By Minister McDonald NP have exercised their power to close  Wooyong Nature Reserve to 4x4 fishers. ECOfishers will continue to fight for the rights of recreational fishers.

ECOfishers David Cranwell has spoken to the National Parks authority regarding the closure of the gravel road access and parking spaces in Cudgen Nature Reserve. He has been assured in accordance with park management policy the access will be re-opened post haste.
Another sneaky attempt by NP to restrict access to our beaches. NP excuse for closure was the rubbish being disposed there.
Shows NP can't police the NP areas they control now and yet still demand more. Rubbish will enhance the rabbits and foxes that also call Cudgen Nature Reserve home.

ECOfishers held a very fruitful meeting with Duncan Gay and Geoff Provest on Wednesday. Geoff is once again to visit the closure of beaches in front of nature reserves to 4x4 and also access through nature reserves.
For those fishers who use Cudgera Creek he is going to ask that a flashing beacon be placed on "Gear-box rock".
The dredging of Cudgen creek could also become a reality in the not too distant future.

Yes this is the particular one but there have been several closures over the last couplle of months. Access has also be closed on the beaches south of Brunswick Heads. "The Balmain Belle" has given NP more closures.

 Murf,
hitting my head against the proverbial brick wall doesn't hurt as much as the pain to be suffered by Labor next NSW election and fishers shall be there to administer it. Keep remembering the Berlin Wall must have been a lot of head pain there before it collapsed.
