A hastily called meeting, called by the Solitary Island Marine Park Authority, notification flyer dated 1/4/200  with meetings to be held at Coffs Harbour 8th, Woolli 9th and Grafton 10th has turned into a fizzer. Meeting was by invitation with a restriction on numbers from each fishing club.
I have not received reports from Grafton or Wooli as yet but ECOfishers Geoff Parker attended Coffs Harbour meeting and suggested it achieved nothing except perhaps the SIMPA can now say they met with fishing groups.

Only a miserable 600 individual submissions recieved on the Review. Locals know the only realistic solution to getting a fair go, is to change the government. March 2011.

The NSW Labor government has now reneged on the promised independent review of all the science supposedly underpinning their NSW marine parks.
No joy there for a Labor government seriously on the nose not only with NSW recreational fishers, but also the community at large.
The promised independent review would have only produced more embarrassment for Labor - so they canned it and in doing so, broke another promise to the citizens of NSW.
