COOK ISLAND: The extreme green, government funded (our taxes) National Parks Association, wants at least 20% of Cook Island, as fishing exclusion, sanctuary zone. That means locked-up and fishers locked-out forever! (Over and above the Aquatic Reserve.)
Spokesperson for the NPA, Paul Winn, anounced their plans on ABC Radio, this morning. (20/12/07)
So the cat is well and truly out of the bag! Join ECOfishers now, on line. Don't delay. Do nothing and say goodbye to fishing the best spots around Cook Island.
ECOfishers will meet this green grab head on - and beat it. Don't let Paul Winn and the extreme Greens win this one!

A special ECOfishers Tweed meeting held in November shows members still want to fight for their fishing rights. The extreme greens will find they have more than a handful of irate fishers on the Tweed. Labors chances of regaining Tweed will take a backward step if they allow these Marine Parks to be created.

The NPA has commenced their vigorous lobbying of the NSW Labor government, to establish a marine park, incorporating Cook Is. on the Tweed. The Labor government will be in power for the next three years - until 2011. That's plenty of time to establish a marine park on the Tweed. What are Tweed fishers planning to do about it? Or is there a large dose of apathy there among local fishers? You better get organised fellas, because time is running out. And what a usual way for a Labor government to repay the people on the Tweed for ripping their Labor seat away from them. Whack in a marine park as a reward, for the locals! Not one marine park in NSW, is in a Labor held seat. DOESN'T THAT TELL YOU SOMETHING???
