Queensland Premier Anna Bligh today announces that 15% of  Morton Bay would be locked up in sanctuary zones using the same spiel used by Doubtful Debus in NSW. A larger proportion is to unaccessible to commercial fishers.  $4 million has been set aside to compensate commercial fishers but from what was broadcast there appears no compensation for businesses effected by the closures.
Once again there is no mention of pollution controlls or feral weeds.

And Bruce Alvey's mob proposed 29% sanctuary (green zone) zone. That is guaranteed to make Qld recreational fishers a bit uncomfortable! (and Alvey unpopular!)  CEO

Wrong!  The MBAA proposed 10% green zones.

The Courier Mail reported 29% sanctuary zone, last year.
