Little invertebrate critters above the high tide mark that provide food for sshore birds? Apart from the odd Ghost Crab, I'm not aware of any substantial biomass. And vehicular traffic hasn't made any difference to the shore bird and wading bird populations on Fraser Is. (Qld)
Flocks of literally hundreds of Pied Oyster Catchers inhabit the island and happily co-exist with vehicles. And sadly that iconic Australian fishing site is now managed by NPWS.
Queer comments from that Andressen bloke, cause NPWS vehicles are on the local beaches every day along with the Surf Patrol vehicles and local government rangers. Don't they have  an impact.? Oh, it is only recreational fishers he wants banned. He hasn't a hope of shifting the pro's. ABC - a mere megaphone for the green extremists. No wonder fishers don't listen to them.
