The Recreational Saltwater Trust Expenditure Committee may not be a government committee but its membership is directly made up with government appointees. Recreational fishermen have absolutely no say on who is appointed to this committee, who's primary role is to approve and oversee the expenditure of the income from our fishing license fees. The expenses of this committee are met from the license fee income.
Do you think commercial fishermen would accept such a system? Not on your life! Why should they be able to elect who represents them and we do not have the same courtesy extended to us?
Mel.

MEL, a truly representative Committee may have a different slant and perspective on recreational fishing issues. Therefore priorities may be different. Appoint the committee you want and you get the desired outcomes. It's an old, tried and true, Labor tactic. There's nothing "representative," either about Labor's ACoRF Committee. It too is in desperate need of revision......but that won't happen under Labor. It will take a total change of government!

MACDONALD'S DENIAL: MAKE A NOTE OF THIS......BECAUSE YOU'LL NEED IT.
In the Daily Telegraph on Thurday March 22nd 2007, Minister Macdonald announced, " There were NO plans whatsoever, for a marine park on the Central Coast."
With Labor's election win on the back of Green preferences, the Greens are already clamouring for their "pound of flesh." And the Hawkesbury Shelf Bioregion doesn't have a marine park....yet. Some Bioregions have two marine parks. So folks, remember the quote and remember the date....because you'll need it!
BEING FOREWARNED IS TO BE FOREARMED.
And the entire ECOfishers organization is here to help.
