CRIKEY! Labor's Debus, "with GAY abandon," says Ken Smith of Byron Bay! Hmmmmm. So subtle and very, very clever!

ECOFISHERS are actively campaigning to have all stormwater filtered, BEFORE it reaches the beach, sea or estuary. They have already started an implementation program with a simple "cod end," from an old trawl net tied over the end of a stormwater pipe on Wategos Beach at Byron Bay. After every shower of rain its removed and the contents emptied into a Council garbage bin. Now that's being proactive! The assortment of litter collected is amazing. The most common by far, is the plastic shopping bag, left by tourists at the NPWS barbeques, at the beach.
ECOfishers is most impressed by the Coalitions stormwater harvesting policy. This will save a lot of water that needlessly runs out to sea and kills billions on marine organisms by "osmotic shock," every time it rains. And of course, if the stormwater doesn't get to the sea or estuary, it doesn't carry the plastic bags that block outboard motor water inlets!
Now what are the Green supposed "conservation," groups doing?  Nothing in Byron Bay, I'm told. (And they've stopped writing letters to the paper again too!) So what are they doing in your area?

STEPHAN.  Great contribution mate.....again! Just goes to show, the pen IS mightier than the baseball bat. The pen also beats character assassination, by miles.
Thanks again, Stephan, for your prompt and effective response. Your regular contributions are greatly appreciated and right on the money!
