WELCOME  ABOARD  TWEED ECOFISHERS!  We now look forward to regular contributions to this column from the Tweed River area, on the border with Qld. It already looks and sounds very exciting up there.   Tarki

TWEED ECOFISHERS:  It's Friday the 13th tomorrow. Can we all expect another exciting installment of Part 2, of  "GREEN MYTHS EXPOSED & EXPLODED," please?
There's alot of valuable ECOfishers information in that little article. Information that is valuable for people to write letters to the editor and radio talk back shows etc.       Tarki

TWEED ECOFISHERS;  Have you "tweedies," had a listen to the 2GB Talk Back Segment yet?  It is classic radio. Alan Jones does a complete "snow," job on Labor's Macdonald over his marine parks!  Do tune in.   And who is posting the second installment of "Green Myths Exposed & Exploded?"   Tarki

TWEED  ECOFISHERS:                               COOK  ISLAND  3KM  DIAMETER  EXCLUSION  ZONE:

There it is folks, as predicted and published by ECOfishers NSW, months ago, the writing has finally been put on the wall!
The extreme Green anti-fishing machine, wants divers given exclusive use. They have identified dozens more sites, up and down the coast, for 3km lockouts. And as if divers don't have an impact on GN Sharks in these aggregation sites. See our Grey Nurse Shark column, on this page for a heap of information.
Tweed ECOfishers, you will now need to kick your media campaign into top gear to counter the anti-fishing Greens. They are in bed with the Labor Party and you folks are in a marginal seat.  So get organized, get started and go hard.......in all the local media.  Keep us all posted, for we can and will all contribute from all over the state.      Tarki

If the greens and any other people who are interested in conserving the GNS then they would be seriously considser curtailing, diving into GNS habitat , in the current political environmrnt, there is nothing to protect the GNS from divers,  labor are sanctioning divers into GNS habitat, and at the same time blaming us rec fisho's for all of the problems in the fishing world

OR...... they could make a REAL contribution to the captive breeding project, by donating some of their taxpayer funds. Now that would get them some publicity the community could identify with. Think it will happen? NAAAAA. They would rather grab a headline with a useless threat to take Labor to court.....a move that is bound to fail and waste more of our taxpayer dollars!             Tarki

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?ONE? RESPONSE? TO? LABOR'S? DEBUS......It's a beauty! (Use it in your area)
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?TWEED ECOFISHERS' Anthony Smith, responds to Labors Bob Debus' attack on ECOfishers, in the Tweed Sun. This is what Anthony writes.

"Labor's Minister Debus talks misinformation - more of it. This is the same Labor politician who oversaw the exclusion of Tweed recreational fishers from their local beaches. This is the same Labor politician who told the people in his electorate, the new road at? Lawson (Blue Mountains) wouldn't go through their village. It did! This is the same Labor politician who told Parliament, there was overwhelming community support for Labor's marine parks. There isn't! This is the same Labor politician who told the good citizens of Batemans Bay, a socio-economic study would be done BEFORE any marine park was announced there. It wasn't! And he has the gall to talk misinformation - a Labor politican! Pleeeease, give us a break! Labor's Mr Debus continues to treat us like second class citizens. That's why one million recreational fishers will not support Labor or the Greens."? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Anthony Smith? Tweed ECOfishers.

? ? ?A great effort Anthony and a beaut response. Tweed is a marginal Labor seat!? Go ECOfishers.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Tarki

GREENS propose 3km diameter "sanctuary" Critical Habitat Zone, for Grey Nurse Shark, around Cook Is. LABOR listening. That means NO FISHING within the 3km diameter zone. What do you think about that?

? TWEED ECOFISHERS CALL FOR IMPROVED FISH PASSAGE? ON OXLEY RIVER.  (Murwillumbah) ? "Slippery Crossing," a barrier to native fish passage. Fishway required. Tweed Ecofishers lead the campaign.? Details soon.? ? ? ? ? ? ? Tarki.
? PS "Slippery Crossing," is on the old Lismore Road, a couple of kilometres upstream from the Bray Park Weir. Prime Bass country, that will be made even better with some proposed "rehabilitation," work supported by Tweed Ecoishers.
