Peter Debnam was on abc newcastle yesterday to talk about local issues, in response to an email from Rowan at port stephens who asked "given the huge amount of community opposition to fishing closures in marine parks, what is your policy on the issue?".
His response was that he was well aware of many public meetings with up to 1000 people attending not only at port stephens but also on the south and north coast, he indicated that the parks zonings are being rushed through with no consideration being paid to community concerns and a coalition government would review the parks and engage in proper community consultation on the issue.
