WANTED (MOSTLY ALIVE) RECREATIONAL FISHERS. You are gradually and progressively being locked-out, of your best and favourite fishing spots, by an uncaring Government and a small but extreme Green organization. Marine parks, National parks, and other government departments are rapidly eroding your rights. Up until 8 years ago, our beaches, rocky headlands and off-shore waters, were all in public ownership. That is, they belonged to us, the people. Today, there are already six marine parks established across the state, with more in the pipeline. You have already lost your traditional rights to access and use these areas, through so called "sanctuary zones." (About 120,000 hectares are earmarked to be locked up in sanctuary zones in the Port Stephens Marine Park.) Now that is a hell of a lot of top fishing grounds that you currently cannot access. And multiply that by five other marine parks across the state, and you start to see the BIG picture. The Greens make no secret of their goal to have 50% of the state's coastline and estuaries, locked up in sanctuary zones as soon as possible! And they don't even use it! Are you going to put up with that? Are you going to just roll over and let it happen? Are you one of those family fishers who think there is nothing you can do about it? Are you one of those apathetic fishers who don't care what is left for future generations, your grand kids and mine? Or are you one of those people who would rather buy a kilo of imported, Mekong River Catfish, grown out in cages and reared on human waste, in Vietnam? Well if you are, I've got news for you! ECOfishers is looking for REAL recreational fishers. Fishers with balls. Fishers with initiative, get-up and go. Fishers who want to put a stop to the rot. Fishers who care. Fishers who are not going to put up with being shafted and robbed blind. Fishers who won't just roll over. Family fishers who really want to do something about it. Fishers who want to leave something for future generations. Fishers who are passionate about their environment and their sport. ECOfishers needs you NOW. Join up (on line) and help make the difference. ECOfishers is now the voice of NSW recreational fishers. We need you, to help us, to help you! Got it? Then together, we can all help make the difference. Otherwise, it's RIP recreational fishers.
