This is what the Government calls public consultation, they select the people to be on the comittees, PUBLIC CONSULTATION is a farce, The government can not afford to have any dissent on this issue, they are on the ropes now with the publicity over dioxins in Sydney Harbour, What about the rest of the issues of pollution in every electorate around the state, In my electorate it is Faecal Coliforms in Tiiiigery Creek, forcing oyster farmers out of business. What is the issue which is swept under the carpet in your electorate? Marine Parks do not address these issues in any way, shape or form.

I'd have to disagree with you there Row.? Ian Smith and Darryl Stuart hae been doing a fair bit of Community Consultation down around Narooma for those that want to get involved.? They have been to Focus Group Meetings and have made themselves available outside these times, organising meetings and talking to people.? I can put anyone in touch with Ian or Darryl.? I didn't want to be so presumptuous to publicise their contact details on the internet though...
Mark Fleming is also getting around talking with the Conservationists.? Maybe they are the odd ones out?on the Advisory Committees though, I don't know.

It's good to see that your advisory committee is talking to their representees, I was suggesting that hasn't been happening in Port Stephens.(I should have been more clear). Cheers.

I haven't seen or heard of the other rec fishing rep doing much. Apparently his attitude is "people know where to find me" if they want to talk to him .

ACT ANGLER: Be sure to check out the Grey Nurse Shark "hit list," on page 13 of the Marine Parks column. Preferably not tonight though, it may keep you awake! Tarki.

MARINE PARKS-CONSULTATION; See how "open and transparent," the whole sorry, sordid saga is? Batemans and Port Stephens you are being conned! Next, they will try the "nice guy," stuff. Bring the Minister into town to meet with the Advisory Committees, and have lunch with them etc. It is all part of the smooth, oily plan to win you over, so that when they shaft you, you will be the bunnies for a very angry community. And the pollies and the MPA will say, "but the Advisory Committee supported it." It's all been done before in other marine parks. In criminal circles, it is known as "modus operandi." Tarki
