a chance meeting at the boat ramp between club members and the local green brigade ended in a co opperative working bee on the dunes behind our tractor shed. Depending on a grant application, we plan to remove weeds, replant natives and rebuild a well trodden footpath across the headland. Following the verbal battlers we have had in the local press over the years, this joint project has come as a shock to both parties. While we agree to disagree on many things, willingness to communicate face to face has produced one possitive. ratsack Smiley

Ratsack,

Yes it is amazing how much we do have in common with our fellow dirty fingered conservation fellows, what we need to do is share those common interests of us smelly fingered fishos getting dirty fingers too!

I known many anglers don't like to engage with fellow conservationists, as long as we can engaged on that 85% on common ground and treat each other with respect towards the remaining 15% in regards to our chosen activities then yes we can get along just fine.

As they say, if we look after all our critical fish habitat, be that along the banks of streams and creeks, coastal areas like dunes and beaches, and those so important sea grass and web beds, then our fish will produce more fish naturally.

I say well done Ratsack, you mention a grant if you need more help in this area then drop us a line and see how we can help you out.

Ratsack has already dropped his line to ECOfishers - the voice of NSW recreational fishers.
