There's something in the water all right and it ain't an artificial reef! ECOfishers have just been advised that the Vic - Tasmanian, Bass Strait scallop fishery has collapsed and it too is not from overfishing, our commercial colleagues argue!

And why is it that coastal G.P.'s are reporting a greater incidence and rise in, ear, nose and throat infections, among surfers, than twenty years ago? There's definitely something in the water - besides the salt!

And it wasn't so many years ago that an effective remedy for a nick, cut, graze or abrasion, was a dip or soak in the marine environment. A general good cure-all. Not any more. More likely to come away with an infection. There's something in the water!
