Few items on local radio in the last few days indicating the MPA from PSGLMP intend some research on the habits of Turtles. Even before the research has started a spokesperson stated the aim is to restrict fishing and boating. So the MPA will waste thousands of dollars tootling around in their $100,00 boat probably catching and tagging turtles to see what they do. Why not just ask a Fisher? We can tell them where the Turtles are and what they do but will we? Not likely as sure enough if we do the MPA will just ban fishing as that appears to be their only solution. We know the main threat to Turtles is not fishing and so do the MPA.

ECOfishers should send them some of the vision from Costa Rica where local villagers colllect bags full of turtle eggs each year for sale and human consumption. And they just ban fishing!!!
