Yet another classic example of the greenies "Spill Over Theory," in reality. Totally negative socio-economic impacts from their marine parks. Two bait and tackle shops went belly-up early in the peace, now the Fishermen's Co-op closes down! And Labor/Greens minister Debus had the gall to tell the local community, there would be "no negative impacts from the government's marine park!" Liars all along.

And all the extremist anti-fishing groups claims, theories and hyperbole, will be "scientifically examined and tested," in the up coming audits of Labor/Greens marine parks - including their so called sanctuary zones and spill over theory. And if they don't add up, they will be radically altered! The community will not put up with taxpayer funded initiatives, that are expensive environmental duds! So communiies that have had Labor/Greens marine parks imposed upon them reluctantly, have some very interesting times ahead.
Remember, there were 6000 individual local submissions opposed to the Cape Byron Political Park Zoning Plan and only 325 supporting it. The 325 extreme anti-fishing group got that zoning plan up, with additional sanctuary zones! Their minister Debus had previously told locals "the community will decide!" And when they did he couldn't believe it and ignored it. (Some greenie had given him bad advice.) Those facts too, will be made part of the up coming scientific audit. Locals can hardly contain themselves. There are going to be some very red faces among some of those greens!

For decades now, the Brunswick River, (Nthn NSW) has been so contaminated with agrichemicals and raw sewage, (E Coli) that oyster growing and fattening, has been prohibited for years. Yet the Labor/Green government didn't have any compunctions in declaring the estuary as part of their marine park! Then they try to con the community that these areas of theirs, are marine protected areas! Protected from what ECOfishers continually asks? They aren't protected from the real threats to our marine biodiversity and associated ecosystems. They just ban fishing!
With the avalanche change of government, when NSW recreational fishers took to the polls with great gusto, we can now look forward to some long overdue changes to these expensive, environmental duds the Labor/Green government imposed upon reluctant coastal communities and called "marine protected areas."
And still, there is not one marine park in any Labor held seat of NSW. Makes you wonder why, doesn't it?
