Dr Ben Diggles summary says it all. Shonky science and rubbery data. Does Garrett think we aren't well informed?

Great news - great policy initiatives! Why? Because it has been designed with the "participation," of representative peak bodies of recreational fishers - like ECOfishers!

20 . 8 . 2010. Now the greenies, in desperation, are saying Labor's offfshore marine reserves, "are to protect the nursery areas of our fish stocks!" Protect them from what? If only they knew what they were talking about! What an insult o the nations fishing communities?

Labor / Garrett's plans for their offshore marine reserves will all still be on hold, while the pollies sort out who gets what, where and when! The best thing Labor can do after the drubbing they got in the polls is to sit down with the fishers (like the Coalition did) and talk and LISTEN! After all, they represent us! They are elected to do our bidding. Labor seems to have forgotten that basic tenet of democracy! And why do the greenies continue to claim thy are an independent party? They are so far in bed, so often with Labor they've got bed sores on the rump they are, of the Labor party. Really, they are a coalition with Labor. Why do they pretend otherwise?

FEDERAL LABOR EXTENDS BELATED INVITATION TO ECOFISHERS. Federal Labor this morning contacted ECOfishers, via a senior journalist, with an offer to sit down with us as the peak body representing NSW recreationalfishers, and hear our concerns. Labor playing catch-up? ECOfishers had already been invited to to a series of meetings with the Coalition , before the election, to document our views and concerns and participate in the development of their policy. And that is clearly reflected in their Policy which is posted on this website. ECOfishers will meet with Federal Labor. Our ECOfishers policy clearly states "We will work with any government for better outcomes for recreational fishers and the fisheries resources." So if we can participate in policy development for Federal Labor, ECOfishers is quite happy to share our knowledge, skills and experiences. Already it is sounding a bit like an auction - with fishers the ultimate winners. More details via our other network.

Federal Labor is now courting ECOfishers. ECOfishers has been invited to meet with Federal Labor and share our concerns. What a turn-around.? All too late of course, for Federal Labor, after their disastrous showing in the weekend election.
