In the latest fire sale of public assets, NSW Labor is selling off the state's marine parks. Expressions of interest will be advertised in the next few months, to aid the ailing government's desperate financial circumstances and to rid them of a major millstone around the government's neck. It is expected the sell-off will be completed by March 2011.
The Opposition is keen to acquire these state assets and return them to the people. Leader of the Opposition, Barry O'Favour, said today, "The NSW electorate will complete the sale for us via the ballot box. Once we have acquired all the state's marine parks, we will return them to the community. We want people to use and enjoy our marine parks, not lock them out. This we promise to do once we acquire them on behalf of all the people of NSW."
The three leaders of the three peak recreational fisihing organizations, in NSW, could not be contacted today for comment.

Can NSW recreational fishers make it happen?
