I have a dream ........

That dream was unity, unity amonst recreational anglers.

That's why ECOfishers QLD Inc was established to join forces with ECOfishers. Unity ! Unity is a must not a choice.

In QLD we have made big steps towards establishing our cause. We will be the voice for rec anglers in QLD.

ECOfishers has put there hand up for the recreational angler rights ! So will we ECOfishers QLD.

I wish you well, Damo.  Just don't make the mistake of alienating those that are there already.  You don't get a lot of Unity out of that.

I can put you in touch with the QLD ANSA and GFAA guys if you want to make contact.  The CEO of Recfish Australia is up your way too.

None of the fair dinkum elected reps of NSW recreational fishers "alienate those whoa are already there!" They do that very well, by themselves, without any assistance from anyone else. Just look at the ECOfishers UNITY SUMMIT, where the RFA mob didn't even have the balls to respond!  Is it any wonder they are irrelevant to NSW~recreational fishing families. Rocky.

Does anyone in Ecofishers think it would be possible to create an umbrella organisation to tackle the state wide issue of no take zones? I think I have asked the question before.

Hi guys,
Mmmmm.
Obviously an issue with a high emotional rating for some.
"None of the fair dinkum elected reps of NSW recreational fishers "alienate those whoa are already there!" They do that very well, by themselves, without any assistance from anyone else.                  How are fishers going to address the "disunity"problem and get the representation they need and deserve.
There seems to be a big issue with each representative bodies willingness to aknowledge the legitimacy of other representative groups.
                   So............
All these groups need to accept that there will be other representatives of fishing interests around and accept their differences ........these groups obviously are not going to form into one,
Therefore they all need to agree that the best way to move forward is to be an equal partner in one unified parent entity that exists only to act as the oracle or spokeperson when dealing with the major issues  (fishing closures for example). Its duties could be as simple as being limited to the issue of public statements & public submissions.
This parent representative body would perhaps have one representative from each group & be officially sanctioned by each group as the the spokesperson for all fishers.
They simply need to agree!
Each group will still has its own constituents and individual identity. (There may be a bit of pride swallowing going on)
IS THIS POSSIBLE ??

ECOfishers clearly aren't interested in the city based RFA. NSW recreational fishers don't see any relevance there and we don't like the way they do their business, rude and discourteous. Besides most NSW recreational fishers haven't even heard of them and care even less. Until the RFA mob display a more co-operative, courteous, manly and fair dinkum attitude to NSW recreational fishers, they aren't even considered. Besides, they are yesterday's men and their days are seriously numbered. On two occasions at least, ECOfishers extended the hand of co-operation to that mob and twice they didn't even have the guts to respond. Why would NSW recreational fishers bother again? They wont!  Rocky.

Quote from: CEO
your opinion is certainly NOT supported, or shared, by NSW recreational fisjhers, just lookin. They don't even have the courtesy to answer or acknowledge, correspondence. That's of no use to NSW rectreational fishers! Nor is it any way to do business, apart from being discourteous.  Rocky.

I suggest it won't ever happen while ever stuff like this keeps getting posted in public.  Not a good look at all, I'm surprised ECOfishers members put up with it, can't be good for their image.

Is Rocky in the Ecofishers office? Perhaps Rocky can answer my question about the umbrella organisation and Kingpro's quite reasonable suggestion. If not can the boss Ken Thurlow give us his opinion? Surely this is the only way forward for all these little groups.
