Has anyone seen the ad in today's Sun Herald? Against a backdrop of idylic coastline and a lone angler (and not a fun policeman in sight) it proclaims "Time to wet a line. The seas are warm, the days are long and the fish are on the bite! There's never been a better time to grab your gear, grab the family and head off to one of the countries greatest fishing playgrounds."

At the bottom there is a marine park logo and a link to the marine park website!

The same ad was flashed up on the big screen at the ECOfishers Laurieton rally last night The comment accompanying it, from ECOfishers read, "First they lock us out - now they are advertising and pleading  for us to come back!"
Clearly, there are some serious economic impacts already biting at the Port Stephens marine park. We told you so, says ECOfishers!
PS Why not post it right here, Billfisher?

                   THE MARINE PARK AD.
"The seas are warm, the days are long, and the fish are on the bite! There's never been a better time to grab your gear, grab the family and head off to one of the country's greatest fishing playgrounds. Time to wet a line! Port Stephens - Great Lakes Marine Park."
Apparently, they are now running the same advertisement, full colour, full page, in some of the popular fishing press. We have also heard from our South Coast ECOfishers, a similar ad has been tailored for the Batemans Marine Park.
It begs the perrenial question again. If the fishing is so fantastic, why do they have to advertise to get people to go there? Good news doesn't need to be advertised. It simply promotes itself!
The Labor government kicks us out and then pleads for us to come back AFTER they have locked up the best spots.
Tell them, "they gotta be dreaming!"

We are all now wondering what the MPA will come up with when they spend our tax dollars on a Byron Bay Political Park ad? Will it feature the drunks, the drug addicts, the dead beats, the drop-outs, the drop kicks and the dreadlocks? We can always produce the latest crime statistics and they are horrendous! Or will it be the rip-off prices and the endless traffic gridlock and nowhere to park?
They've already got the slogan, "Come to Byron Bay and get bashed & smashed." (or vice versa)

Why don't you move out of Byron Bay if you hate it so much CEO?

We have Clive. We have. We don't  "hate" the place though. We don't  "hate," anything or anyone. We are just so disappointed at what and the way the place has been allowed to denegerate thru' unmanaged tourism and the party town image the place has acquired. Turning our family home of 50 years into another cage, with a huge booming sound system and add a roof deck,( like the absentee landlord across the road, did illegally,) and make it just another of those illegal holiday rental cages,, is the way to go. If you cdan't beat em Clive, join em, and live off the fat. Come in suckers$$$.
