So what do we want them to do about it? What are your ideas and aspirations for a sustainable recreational fishing industry, inside and outside government marine parks?

Why not get rid of the so called sanctuary zones and make them into fair dinkum Habitat Protection Zones? And protect the habitat from the identified and recognised threats. Healthy habitats means a healthy and sustainable fishery!

How about these for a start. 1) make sanctuary zones habitat protection zones 2) use licence fees to buy out the pros. No more government use other than those sanctioned by Recreational Fishers. 3) replace government appointed AcorF with a committee elected by card holding recreational fishers and professional fishers. 4) Marine Parks creation based on independent scientific research. 5) marine parks returned to fisheries control. 6) more government money spent on the real problem of water quality. 7) recreational fishing licences reviewed. 8)legislate to prevent boughtout pros from ever buying another licence. Harsh but necessary. 9) more stringent research on harvest controls.

Our local poloticans stance is worth acknowledging, publicly. Even if it only gives th greenies something more to whinge about. Serial whingers and stunt people. That's all they do, and try to ram their ideology, down the throats of the community. Makes a lot of people gag and vomit.

Can we now call this "political science?" Politicians and scientists singing the same song. We don't hear that very often from the current government!

What the state's recreational fishing families desperately need now, is that announcement translated into policy that fishers can chew over and digest, for they will not settle for any half measures! They have been mucked around for far to long!

And yes folks, it is happening! A focus on protecing the habitat - not locking people out. After all, don't we want people to use our marine parks? The Labor government wants to lock us out of theirs!
