 23 Great Whites have been netted in the Sydney summer shark net system. (1/09) Maybe they are chasing some of the 1500 to 3000 Grey Nurse sharks left, which comprise a considerable size of their diet. Perth doesn't have a similar system hence they lose about one surfer per year to Great Whites.
